The Journey, the Return and Love

” I’m writing to feel the love I’m breathing. I write down every year, because I have the desire to meet my beloved homeland and lovely village. I’m living this love by being more and more selfless and nobler yet will never forgive the delay of not going back there.”

For the full blog I wrote back in 2012:

Grandma, Sarah

My Grandma:

“Being forced to leave, my father told us that it wont take much time. It took us 69 years, waiting! And still, I did NOT lose the hope of returning back!”

Here is a great piece about the Nakba written by Lora:

Prison cell university!

Many Palestinian prisoners turned their prisons into universities of knowledge in which they learn and study together in circles. My father told me that in his cell, while he was imprisoned in the ‘israeli’ jails, he along with his friends, studied and discussed all of the Qurtobi Tafsir, Qur’an exegesis, which consists of 12 volumes by the famous classical scholar Al-Qurtubi.

They also studied the first authentic book after the Qur’an, Sahih Al-Bukhari, which is the most authentic collection of reports of the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad – upon him be peace. The majority of them had memorized chapters of the Qur’an, some of them completed it all, alhamdulliah!

To this day, they are still prisoners who learn, study and memorize the Qur’an and some are doing their masters and PhD’s inside the prison. It’s not only Islamic knowledge, yet some prisoners got their PhD in English Literature, Commerce and other fields.

“O you who have believed, if you support Allah , He will support you and plant firmly your feet.” Qur’an | Surah Muhammed: 7

“We did more Istighfaar, so it’s ours…”

Their mom told them, the more you do Istighfaar, the more Allah will give and provide for our family. Then she recites the following  verses:

“And said, ‘Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers. And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers. What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur.” Surah Nuh 71:10-14

Her five young children never stopped doing so.

The family is poor. Very poor. The father lived as an orfan. He sees in one eye and hears in one ear. The family used to sleep for days on streets until they find a house to stay in. If the father had the chance to work for some hours or days for people in the neighborhood, he doesn’t hesistate to do so. He goes, however, the money he gets is never enough for a family of 8. He saves the money so he can pay the rent at the end of the month, or they will become homeless! Usually, the money they save is not enough to pay for the house rent- sometimes people help them, sometimes the owner of the house forgives. They don’t have money to buy their everyday food.

The house they are living in is not suitable for human occupancy. They don’t have gaz to cook, the mother use fire- when they need to cook something. They don’t have a fridge. The only thing you see hanged on the wall is the white bag they use to keep bread. The only water they use is the municipality water- that is not available everyday. The roof of the house is incomplete, so the house becomes full of water in winter and extremely cold. The clothes they have is very old.

One day, some good people decided to bring a closet so they can use it to tidy the clothes and other things they have. One of their clever sons came to his mother- while the guys were putting the closet in the room they all sleep in, saying, “This closet is ours, no?” He means himself and his siblings. She replied with a yes. He then went to his other brothers and said, “it’s ours because we did more istighfaar. The more you do, the more Allah will give you.” Hearing this, I was surprised. Her oldest son is only 7 y/o but he fully understands the meaning of the above mentioned verses, subhanAllah.

The pious mother sets everyday with her children, teaching them Qur’an. She never complains about her situation. She accepted to marry her husband while he only had a bag with old clothes inside- nothing else. She said that he’s a good man but he has zero money. He doesn’t even have a family. And then, and after every sentence she utters, she ends it with “alhamdulliah” that comes from deep deep inside her heart.

If these poor families are tested with poverty, to see if they will bear what they are going through with good patience or not, I think rich people’s tests are far more difficult. Giving and sacrificing ones money is never easy. A true believer can only do this.

May Allah help us pass tests in life successfully. Amen.

Another ‘war’ is yet to come?

“Gaza is under heavy attacks!” This is what you will hear from Gaza children. They know very well what it means. They know that they might have to leave their homes. They know that they might die..They know… !!

In the news: Israeli tanks launched three missiles in the middle of Gaza strip. Zionist warplanes fired flares east of Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip. Palestinian factions: Occupation forces are responsible for the military escalation in Gaza Strip. Israeli airstikes continues on Gaza, now more than 19 airstrike!

 And this…

I have nothing to say, nothing more to share. I only hope that I won’t go through a fourth death experiance…

Pray for Gaza, friends. 💔
